Nintendo Goodness

Went to the IT fair held at Suntec City Exhibition Hall last fri with the guys, all just purely for a single reason. So what was that reason? It was to check out that new Nintendo DS Lite hardware in person. For the past few weeks I had already heard so much about it from several sites, seen the pictures of the launch of it in Japan from the internet, but to be able to see it in person was like so freaking enticing, not to mention exciting. So off we went to the Nintendo booth (which was quite surprising that Maxsoft had two booths instead of one) at the IT fair last week. Another reason was because Brendam, Chengkai and Xiangyao was working at the Xbox 360 booth there, so Val, Brandon and me decided to head there to meet up with those guys as well. Ronald came down to join us too despite not having a wink for more than 48 hours and counting (he’s just exhibiting his FFXI craziness at his best again heh) and then to end off the night, all of us went to Marina Square for dinner at Carl’s Jr for some good o’ Super Star goodness.

Now onto some pictures taken at the Nintendo booth from this gadget otaku heh.

That’s Nintendogs and Animal Crossing: Wild World posters, for you insolent fools who are non-Nintendo gamers and know nuts about them.

Yeah, that’s the Nintendo DS Lite in action. Together with Bleach DS: Souten Ni Kakeru Unmei’s introduction sequence in the pictures. They didn’t had this game on display at their booths actually but Val was nice enough to ask them whether we could try our own games on their DS Lites, and there you have it. We are probably the only ones who had seen the Bleach DS in action, on the new DS Lite. (Other than the peeps and gaming otakus in Japan, that is.)

Ichigo’s Bankai transformation sequence.

In the heat of battle. Guess who’s the one playing it? (Hint: he’s an Apple fanboy)

Back-view and exterior look of the Nintendo DS Lite.

Super Princess Peach. But I’m totally not interested in this game so I don’t give a hoot abt it. (Gomenen, not a Mario & Luigi franchise fanboy lah)

Mario Kart. This game is considered quite addictive when played in that full-scaled 8-player wireless mode. The multiplayer goodness can be described as fun and addicting. Too bad this game has pretty weak single-player (as confirmed by a couple of my DS friends) so whether buying this game just for the multiplayer is justifying anot, honestly I can’t say. I didn’t buy this game myself and probably not in the future too, so I will just keep my comments at that.

Brain Age. This game is particularly quite a big hit in Japan right now. As in, this game is one of the top-10 games in the Japan games-software sales charts every weekly. As of last month, this game has managed to sell more than 1,500,000 copies and still counting. You can check out this site here for the weekly Japan sales chart and see for yourself, seeing is believing. I tried out this for a mere 5 minutes, it was interesting and funny actually. But it’s more of like those games that you will tend to spend for only 5-10 minutes a day. Still I think I will be buying it just for Sudoku, and not to mention that this game could probably keep me from turning senile for those years ahead. (Hahahahaha)

That’s how you play Brain Age on your DS. In true book-nook style.

And to end off this entry, here’s a funny picture of Ronald and Xiangyao, lololol. I’m off to study for my japanese dictation test for tomorrow. Oh btw Kinokuniya’s having this 20% off now for members and today’s the last day, must definitely go and get my latest issue of UptoBoy. Ok monsieur aaron out, laters peeps.
