New Year Rants & Ravings

First of all, Akemashite Omedettou Gozaimasu to everyone. Yours truly here haven’t really wrote a proper entry ever since the start of this year, so here I am everyone. (hurhur) Hope the new year has been fine for everyone, with everyone going back to their usual school and work routines again, busy like usual. (but let’s not forget to stay fun and happy at the same time yeah?)

So it’s the weekends again. (hooray for everyone!) Well this week has been a pretty short week for everyone I believe, what with all the holidays and Lunar Chinese New Year just around the corner. It was a pretty alright week for me, ‘cept that I met into some mishap a few days ago. Lost my precious 4 years old JPG black wallet on Monday when I was out during the night, and I have no one else to blame but myself. Didn’t really got too upset over it, but am still feeling pretty sour over the fact that I’ve lost my precious pink IC and SAF 11B, as well as my important membership cards together with some puris I took with my friends last time. (alot of memorable stuffs) The cash and the rest of the misc stuffs inside the wallet is not all that important, I’m just concerned about my pink IC and SAF 11B since if someone with bad intentions picked them up, they could be misused and land me into some deep trouble. Well it’s over now and there’s no point in procrastinating, since I don’t believe that it will do any good out of it anyway. I can only pray now that somehow my wallet gets returned to some police station and the police will contact me abt it, since I had already lodged a police report regarding it during the night it happened. I guess I’ll need to go ICA and CMPB soon too to do my new pink IC and SAF 11B, since it’s already been a few days and there’s still not news about my missing wallet, and I’m actually not pinning much hope on getting my wallet back already anyway.

Anyway, let’s move on to happier stuffs shall we? Caught Wallace & Gromit - The Curse of the Were-Rabbit last week, it was a pretty good show. I’m usually not a fan of Disney or Dreamworks animations, so I seldom watch these kind of eigo animations in cinemas, but it’s a pretty enjoyable flick to say the least. 4 stars out of 5 stars for me, go watch with someone when you have the time. Before the show started there’s also a short movie segment called The Madagascar - Penguins in a Christmas Caper showed which is also pretty funny, you will definitely love it if you liked Madagascar.

I also attended my first nihongo lesson at JCS yesterday evening, together with Lorraine whom I’d got to know a few mths ago through Friendster. Our teacher is Kowatani-sensei who is also a japanese native, and she speaks pretty good english man! First lesson was learning about the chars in the Gojuuon chart (五十音) also known as the ‘fifty sound’ ordering. Did some simple daily lives speech exchanges as well as learning to read out the items/stuffs on the flash cards showed by our sensei. Had no problems with the speech-speaking part since it was all pretty basic stuffs to me, but I had some problems trying to remember those hiragana chars on the Gojuuon chart. (^ ^); So I had been practicing trying to write the characters and memorising the Gojuuon chart ever since I got home last night. Pretty fun stuffs actually, not really stressed at all. Hopefully next lesson will be more fun, and also it’s really nice to finally meet up with Lorraine. Hopefully we will pull through this course together, and proceed to intermediate classes in June, and finally take our JLPT4 exams in December. Yeah watashi wa gambare masu!

And after a few months of been memorystick-less, my Sony PSP finally gets some love from me. Finally bought my Sandisk 2GB Memorystick Pro Duo after so many months of waiting (thanks to local distributor Vector Magnetics) and also kudos and many thanks to Gamescore for giving me such a good price for it, arigatou ne. It’s nice to be able to store plenty of videos and animes on the PSP without worrying about the quality and length of the videos, since I can now encode higher quality animes and music videos for my own viewing for those long rides of commuting.

I recently started playing my copy of Taiko no Tatsujin for PSP finally, after having bought this game since August last year and didn’t had the chance to touch it at all. A very good and quirky drum game with very nice jpop-ish and popular game tunes to groove with. The picture above is my accomplishment on one of the stages featuring one of the Katamari’s popular track from its PS2 original game soundtrack. Not too shabby considering I only started playing this recently and I’m quite a noob when it comes to Taiko games, in fact this was my first Taiko game since I didn’t buy any of the series that was on the Playstation 2 platform. (gonna do that when the extra moola comes rolling in) Still it’s pretty unbelievable that it’s a really good game for the Sony PSP considering that it doesn’t feature very impressive 3D graphics to wow any graphics whore out there, but still with its animated sequences, quirky style and a nice opening sequence as well the catchy tunes featured in this game, it is definitely something worthy to play and behold at. If you appreciate Japanese culture and adore music games, do check out this game, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. (^ ^)

Anime-wise, I’m so into Bleach recently that I can’t believe I actually finished so many episodes in just two weeks. Very interesting plot and character development as well as conspiracy twists, and the fillers are all very funny and not that boring compared to Naruto. (that Don Konoji-sama is really a comic relief, don’t understand why so many people hate him lmao) I’m actually quite glad that the new Spring season jdramas haven’t really started rolling in, so I have some more time to catch up on the current animes that I’m still following with. Suzuka and Speed Grapher has recently ended its run in Japan sometime ago, so I guess once I’m done with these series I can finally start on Blood+ and Mai-Otome. Anyway here are some magazine scans from Shonen Jump, about the recent Jump Festa 2005 anime tour held in Japan, revealing a brand new Bleach OVA movie that was shown during the anime tour show. From what I had gathered, this OVA has nothing to do with the official manga story-line, so it has to be some kind of a side-story or fillers plot. Expect to see this one released from your fav anime fansubbers group soon? *grins*

I think I should do blog more often man. Lorraine says that I’m always missing when it comes to blog updates, but honestly speaking nowadays I don’t always have the mood to write, it really depends on my mood sometimes. It’s kind of weird to say this, but honestly sometimes I just don’t wish to say anything at all, and would prefer to be nonchalant and be comfortable and discreet in my own ways. Some things are really hard to explain since most people out there won’t understand my true feelings and stand in certain matters, but I’m basically that kind of person where if I can’t suit and please everyone, I would rather walk away, alone. It’s just like how the other day I was actually telling Grace during one of our conversations, that sometimes it’s not a matter of how we strike up a chord with someone, or initiate to try to make effort in rekindling or making a bond in friendship. Sometimes, it only takes a very simple and natural chance, for something to happen between you and another person. If it’s fated, it’s meant to be. If it’s not, no matter how hard you try, you will end up with no desired results at all. That’s what life is all about, I guess? This is not some cliche melodrama in my life, but just go think about it seriously. Sometimes, we really take certain things too hard or seriously, that it’s better to just leave everything as what it is, let time decide for itself. Perhaps the answer is already there, just that it’s up to us whether we choose to accept it or not.

Ok this entry is getting a tad boring and long-winded.

May Heiwa (平和) be with you, monsieur aaron out.
