Pepper Lunch & My New Haircut!

It’s a new week again, and some things has changed. Lotsa things actually. The perspectives some people shared with me regarding various matters recently, brought some new insights into life for me. And sometimes I really wonder, the “times” we’re living in, also known commonly as the “postmodern culture”. So was it the times who made the people for who they are? Or are we the ones who created and make the times? Hrms, just something to ponder about.

Anyways, had a wonderful lunch last Sun at Takashimaya’s Pepper Lunch with Jimmy. I ordered one of their signature dish, the Hamburger Steak with Egg set, derived from their japanese menu selection of beef and chicken dishes. It was my first time at Pepper Lunch, and been such a japanese beef freak (I love Yoshinoya!) of course I was damn elated to try out their food. Turns out my expectations were not wrong, they were indeed very good. As in, really good. If we don’t take into consideration of the price difference between Yoshinoya and Pepper Lunch, I would definitely go for the latter.

So all talk aside, may I present you the pictures of my scrumptious meal, the Hamburger Steak with Egg combo meal with Miso soup.

It's Pepper Lunch! Yummy!

Sorry for the seemingly lack of contrast and colors in the pictures, I took the photos with my Nokia 7610 since I don’t have a digital cam with me. And my verdict of the food? 9/10. The only reason from keeping it from getting a full marks on the scale, was attributed from the fact that the serving portion of the rice and bean sprouts/long beans that they serve for the set, was alittle too meagre for my own appetite. But like what they say, it’s not about the quantity, but the quality that counts. And Pepper Lunch lives up to that statement very well. Kudos to them, I will definitely be going back there again soon, probably sometime next month? So all those steak and beef lovers out there, do give this great restaurant eatery a try, though it’s abit on the pricey side ($13.80 for their combo set + a drink or soup) it’s definitely worth it, you have my word. (Hey Shaun, you freaking steak-lover, don’t miss this alright?)

After that, I went to Taka’s REDS for a haircut. Was supposed to go back there to look for Rita, my personal hairdresser, but I forgotten she was on off that day. I remember when she cut my hair for me the first time, I kinda really liked it, that’s why I decided to go back to REDS again. I don’t think I will be patronising Stormcuts at Tampines Mall again anytime soon, even though my personal hairdresser Serene there has been cutting my hair ever since I was a private in NS. On the otherhand, REDS’ services are just so much better, and the fact that I used to only patronise REDS last time before I got enlisted into NS, probably was also part of the reason why I went back to them recently for my haircuts. So that aside, my assigned hairdresser this time was actually a guy, and it was my first time having a guy cut my hair. Not that I’m not confident in him cutting my hair, but it just feels a tad weird, that’s all. So after telling him what I wanted, he proceeded with cutting my hair. Not much complains though, from my observation he’s pretty careful and attentive, right down to the details. I was pretty nervous at first, but I think it was rather natural, since a stranger’s cutting your hair for the first time, and it’s not your usual hairdresser. But after awhile I thought it was pretty ok, so I just tried to relax myself. Had a cut and wash plus hair treatment, since my hair’s condition was turning out to be pretty dry and brittle, from all that blowing and styling. I didn’t go for any new hair dyes for my hair this time, cause I was pretty comfortable with my current hair color, which is brown and I think since I would be having my exams soon, it would be good to maintain a decent image for myself.

So well, here’s a picture of myself, with my new hairstyle. I requested for my hair to be cut shorter this time, and now my fringe’s pretty short, only barely touching my eyebrows, with my back and sides cropped and trimmed to a shorter layered-style. Looks pretty refreshing to me, as least now I don’t have to blow my hair with the hair-dryer after a bath every now and then, very tedious man.

More updates to come soon. I’m tired, so that’s all for today. Good night everyone, monsieur aaron signing out.
