Goodbye Densha, Hello Dragon Zakura!

Densha Otoko has finally ended its run on FujiTV last week in Japan, and with the help of a broadband connection and P2P networks (Oh how we love the internet…) I finally sat down and finished the last episode two nights ago. The last episode that aired in Japan had a pretty high ratings of 25.5%, possibly one of the strongest jdrama contender for this season. Anyway, the last episode is just there to wrap things up, since we all know from the start, that Densha will eventually end up with his “Hermes-san” together and live happily ever after. (just like the real-life account story) Personally, as a jdrama fan and been a veteran one at it (hey cmon, I have been watching jdramas since I was like what, 13 yrs old?) I do have my own gripes about the last episode, but all in all let’s just do a recap and summary of it now by yours truly.

Pepper Lunch & My New Haircut!

It’s a new week again, and some things has changed. Lotsa things actually. The perspectives some people shared with me regarding various matters recently, brought some new insights into life for me. And sometimes I really wonder, the “times” we’re living in, also known commonly as the “postmodern culture”. So was it the times who made the people for who they are? Or are we the ones who created and make the times? Hrms, just something to ponder about.

Anyways, had a wonderful lunch last Sun at Takashimaya’s Pepper Lunch with Jimmy. I ordered one of their signature dish, the Hamburger Steak with Egg set, derived from their japanese menu selection of beef and chicken dishes. It was my first time at Pepper Lunch, and been such a japanese beef freak (I love Yoshinoya!) of course I was damn elated to try out their food. Turns out my expectations were not wrong, they were indeed very good. As in, really good. If we don’t take into consideration of the price difference between Yoshinoya and Pepper Lunch, I would definitely go for the latter.

So all talk aside, may I present you the pictures of my scrumptious meal, the Hamburger Steak with Egg combo meal with Miso soup.

Confession

You know, there’s a very good chinese proverb saying. “远看花很红,近看花生虫。” For those that are pretty non-literate in chinese, it simply means that while looking at something from afar, it seems pretty nice and admirable. But once you approach it for a closer look, you’ll find that there are horrendous and perturbing details on the object. So much for the curiosity. I reck’on, some things are better to be left unknown, period.

Oh, and sorry for the chinese entry today. (have to apologise, cause there are some friends of my who absolutely hate chinese) Just felt like doing one, after been inspired by some anonymous writer. The chinese poem’s been composed by some random songs I know, plus some creativity from my own. Not a really good poem though, I thought it could be better. Oh well, it’s late so this is just some random stuff that came to my mind. I didn’t really write it for anyone, but yeah my inspiration was obviously from her. I wonder if she will be reading this?

zuru, zuru-zuru - something heavy dragging or being pulled.
Translation Source: http://www.oop-ack.com/manga/soundfx.html

The above japanese word meaning can be translated as; dragging something heavy, a heavy burden or being pulled. This term was encountered in the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children movie, the part where Tifa was giving Cloud a lecture about been trying to run away from reality, as he is still troubled and perturbed by the stuffs that happened 2 years ago. Most sub-groups that did the DVD-rip had the word wrongly subbed, they put it as “drifting” instead. Even Val (Crashwire), who supposingly claimed he did a better soft sub for the DVD-rip, also had that part wrong. Watch too much Initial D already is it? (._.); And I still remembered he told me on MRT that day that the phrase meaning for zuru is drifting actually. To think that he was part of the JCG club in TP, lmao. I knew earlier on there was something wrong with the the translation subs when I was watching my DVD-rip, that’s why I went to search and read up on the term. Proved that I was correct. Anyway, Shinsen-Subs had their DVD-rip subs translated pretty accurate, after I downloaded theirs to compare the encoding quality against the BiEN’s version. And also the Shinsen-Subs’ 2 CD version quality was so much better too, on overall.

Ok it’s getting pretty late so I’m off to bed now, oyasumi minna.

I just decided to have a photos galore kind of entry for today, cause this kind of event coverage is best left to the pictures to do the talking, instead of having myself babbling here and there, and boring you guys with my kind of talk and description etc, heh.

And before you proceed, do take note that since there will be alot of pictures for this entry, it will definitely take a longer time to load. So just sit back and enjoy the pictures, shall we begin now? (^ ^)

Happy 23rd Otanjoubi & More PSP Goodness

Kugatsu Juuyokka is a special day to me, which also means September 14th, which is today and also my birthday ( 誕生日). Will be meeting up with Jimmy (gupster) and the rest of the gang later today in the evening for a dinner gathering and celebration, gonna give them a small dinner treat. Actually it was a rather spontaneous thing, cos actually Jimmy msged me late yesterday night while asking me if I wanna meet up for dinner today. I figured that he wanted to help co-organise something for my birthday, so since he was so kind I can’t reject him can I? Probably will bring them to Marche for dinner or something, will decide again when I meet up with them later in the day. And earlier on last weekend, I actually advance celebrated my birthday with Kaiwei and Jerm at Ichibantei, cos Kaiwei wanted to meet and pass me my birthday prezzie, which was a very nice jade bracelet, though it seems rather unusual to me, since I seldom wear anything like that (I prefer metallic bracelets actually) but still, I really appreciate it, thanks bro. (^ ^)

So after a scrumptious meal of delicious ramen and stuffs at Ichibantei, Kaiwei drove and sent his gf home, before we headed off to Geylang Lorong 9 at the famous You Tiao Da Wang for more delicacy goodness of dao huey (beancurd) and yew char kuey (dough fritters). Haven’t ate them for quite awhile so I was actually quite elated to go back there to eat their yew char kuey. Pure heavenly food bliss, heh that’s all I have to say.

So aside from these happy stuffs, I haven’t been posting some game-related stuffs for sometime, so today I will post a few, that has caught my eye. Let’s start with some upcoming new PSP releases.

Random Bits & Pieces

Ahoy! Yeah I’m back, so sorry guys for MIAing, it has been slightly more than a week since I last blogged. My mind was filled with too many abundant thoughts and many complicated emotions, so I thought I should take a short break from this. Thanks for asking and showing me concern especially from my friends during the past few days, I might not have fully recovered yet, but I think I should be pretty alright now. But anyway just a warning, this following entry might have aplenty of incoherent thoughts, mindless rants and also crude languages in it, you have just been warned. Click the top right cross button if you do not wish to read any of these, or you can continue to read on if you don’t mind at all, thank you for your understanding. (^ ^)

Anyway, I’m probably late on this, but congrats to both Weilian and Kelly in the 绝对SuperStar Finals (aka Project SuperStar) on the 1st of September, that was held at Singapore Indoor Stadium. It doesn’t matter to me that night who was the final winner, and I didn’t vote for either of them, but I was rooting for Kelly all these while, since the day when I noticed her in Project SuperStar. She has the looks, good decent vocals, definitely a very marketable singer idol, no doubt about that. Would definitely be buying her debut album when it’s out, I didn’t get her single EP cos my sis already bought it, so yeah. She’s currently signed under Universal Music, and Weilian’s signed under Play Music. Hope both of them will have a bright future ahead with their new-found dream and all the best with their debut album sales! *cheers*

On to other topics, I recently updated my wardrobe, again. Shopping therapy always works for me, sometimes I really feel like I’m a woman. *bleh* So shop here shop there, actually wanted to find a decent pair of Nike Dunk Highs, in the end I actually spent quite abit on shirts and pants instead. No fixed clothing labels for me, I usually tend to see what’s nice when I go shopping, and if I find the price pretty affordable and worth-while, it’s coming with me back home. My usual fashion style preference are pretty laid-back, I go for casual-wear mostly with a sense of style in them. I don’t really splurge on designer wear labels, but most of my fashion wear are from clothing labels like U2, Samuel & Kevin, Domanchi, Bright House and The Other Side. The clothing label The Other Side has been garnering pretty good praises and publicity recently on the local ST papers, they’re been mentioned mostly on the Urban section articles. I think just today I saw one of their reviews on the Urban section, they had some of the clothing label’s blazers reviewed, most of them are pretty nice-looking I thought. Prices are pretty affordable too, most of them are under the $49.90 or $69.90 categories. T-shirts might be much cheaper, I forgot. The prices I listed are for pants/jeans and long/short sleeved shirts. Anyway in case you have no idea where this clothing shop is located, it’s at Orchard’s Cineleisure 2nd floor, the one just facing opposite Pasta-mania restaurant, you can’t miss it. Talked to the male owner of the shop abit, their original line of fashion wear and designers are based off Hong Kong, so this clothing label shouldn’t be too unfamiliar to those who frequent HK alot, and are into fashion wear as well.

Anyway, so much for the fashion talk. Still haven’t found the pair of Nike Dunks that I want, the one I really wanted and costs a hefty $299 bucks was actually sold out. (-_-)'’ And they don’t specifically bring in the current series again even if they’re sold out, it’s always waiting for a new season series for the next new stocks. And there’s really only one shop in the whole of Queensway shopping mall that sells the premium range of Nike Dunk Highs, really nice ones. So dang it, I just have to wait till next month, go back to that shop again, and see what new Nike Dunk series they offer. Or probably I should just go straight online and import shoes in myself? Online shopping is da thang now you know? You can buy almost anything online now, without getting ripped off, maybe the shipping fee would kill only, that’s all. Sigh, what a dilemma.

And the past few days’ shopping sprees, was not entirely for myself only, it was also for the sake of my beloved friends. Why you might ask? Cos I have a freaking god-damn bunch of friends whose birthdays falls on the current same month as me. (._.)'’ Nb power right? But anyway, that’s not an issue lah, I buy not because I feel obliged to buy for them, but because I consider them to be my true friends and I appreciate them for who they are, so I want them to be happy. The presents or gift I give is not really that important, but it’s a token and a show of appreciation I show to my friends, for the love and concern they had been showering me with, all these while. BUT, do not doubt my friendship even if you do not receive a prezzie from me on your birthday, it could be because I was too broke, or it could also be due to the reason that I really have no idea what to get for you, thus a simple happy birthday sms or call, with my thoughts and wishes from me, should suffice I guess? Yeah, might sound abit lame to you, but honestly this is what I think. We should always look BEYOND the surface, dunch ya think? (^ ^)

Anyway, my expenses for this month are pretty heavy. What with the present preorders of my Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Pieces limited edition, the first pressing of the normal DVD edition of the same title, the UMD version of the same title, the Original Soundtrack of the same title, and also lastly but not least, my most anticipated PSP game title of this season, Ghost in the Shell SAC: Territory of Hunter. (yeah I’m a huge GITS fan) Yeah so you can probably guess how much all these would cost, so I believe I do not need to scare you off with the exact cost amount here. The low-downs of the sacrifices I have to undertake? An all-time low record in my bank account, out-of-bounds to nice and expensive restaurants (grr I wanna go Ichibantei!) and also, spending less on weekends, meaning for this month I would have to stay home mostly on weekends, if possible. What a bummer. Looks like I have to start selling off my idol gravure and anime DVDs to recoup my losses man, and the fact that I’m not working currently is even more demoralising. Let’s hope I can get a pretty decent part-time bento once I’m done with my O’s, have to start replenishing back all that money into my bank account, if not my financial situation is gonna get much worse. *sweats*

And finally, not to forget, today’s Jimmy’s (gupster) 23rd birthday. Omedetto Otanjoubi man! One of my best good-buddy buddy friend I got to know through one of the local gaming community, we had alot of things in common and both of us are Virgos, so yeah fate probably pushed us together. Went through lotsa ups and downs together, and we still managed to be friends till now, even though we didn’t know each other for very long. Hey bro, just wanna say it’s really nice to be able to meet you, thanks for been my friend, and yeah, looking forward to seeing you later at your birthday bash. And how can I even forget this, since ya my honey, I’m gonna give you a birthday KISS tonight! Wahahaha…ok crap, I’m just joking, lmao. But hey, you dare anot? (something for you to ponder lol)

Ok that’s all for tonight, it’s late and I need to sleep. Good nights gentlemen, monsieur aaron will be back to smack more ass. (or kick more ass, whatever)

Facts of the Day: To whom it may concern, I’m not giving up yet…this is just the start of my journey, my marathon. Wait for me, and I’ll prove myself to you.
